Self-taught french artist, Patricia
ALARY was born in the southern region of France named Languedoc.
From her childhood she traveled a lot and gathered strong impressions of the different countries she lived in.
Her leitmotiv is the discovery of light.
After studying oil and watercolor techniques, she began to exhibit in the south of France, in Montpellier (1973).
She lives near Paris in the Loiret region, since 1976.
Professional artist since 1991, she earns her living by paintings she creates in her studio in Louzouer, near Montargis.
There she also gives courses on drawing and painting.
Her work revolves around three main lines :
- Landscape painter of the “Sologne”, “Gatinais” and “Val de Loire” regions,
- Animal painter (mainly horses), and portraitist (oil, sanguine and pastels),
- She explores also contemporary art, where her painting is a kind of abstract hyperrealism (oil, pastels and mixed media).
